Somewhere in Time Gazebo Wedding

The Somewhere in Time Gazebo is situated on a wooded bluff just east of Fort Mackinac, overlooking Marquette Park, the village of Mackinac Island, and Straits of Mackinac. This is the original gazebo from the movie Somewhere in Time, filmed on Mackinac Island. The romantic period drama, starring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve, was released in 1980.

The gazebo, constructed for the movie, remained on the island after filming. It was restored and moved to its current location in 2005.

Schedule & Amenities

Weddings may be scheduled at the Somewhere in Time Gazebo from early May through October. The park can be booked for a wedding from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. All wedding reservations include a 2-hour time block for decorating, ceremony, pictures, and clean-up. Rehearsals can also be scheduled the day before.

Up to 50 white wedding chairs are provided for the ceremony. Additional chairs (up to 75) are also available for $2.00 each. A Mackinac State Historic Parks representative will be available throughout the ceremony. In the case of inclement weather, Mission Church will be the designated weather back-up.
