Fire Michilimackinac’s Cannon

Even with the Mackinac Bridge towers in the distance, standing at the brass cannon aimed over Lake Michigan with the wooden palisade of Fort Michilimackinac behind you transports you back in time to the 1770s. A historic interpreter takes you through the process of preparing the cannon for firing, and, at 9:30 a.m. sharp, the command of “FIRE!” is given and you fire a ceremonial cannon blast opening Colonial Michilimackinac for the day.

For only $75 ($50 for Mackinac Associates (excluding Heritage Level)), you can fire the Colonial Michilimackinac cannon. This special experience is available for one person every morning for the first cannon firing June 1 – October 3, and select dates throughout October. Call for more information.

On the shore of Lake Michigan, you can prep and fire the iconic
Colonial Michilimackinac cannon!
