Michilimackinac’s Enslaved Community Program
An in-depth discussion about how slavery developed over time, and how the experiences of enslaved people at the Straits reflect the complexities of slavery in the Great Lakes. Begins on the Parade Ground.

The Pleasure of the Table: Dining Culture at the Merchant’s House
Join us in a Merchant’s house and learn about what a household might eat in the 1700s at Michilimackinac. You might be surprised! Located in the Southwest Rowhouse.

Learn how soldiers in the British army trained and practiced drill with their muskets, including a live weapons firing! Takes place on the Parade Ground.

More than Soldiers: Civilians at Michilimackinac Program
Civilians were not bystanders to the Great Lakes fur trade. This program will highlight many of the people that lived and worked at the fort, including fur traders, spies, midwives, and servants. Begins on the Parade Ground.

Michilimackinac 1781: The End
After six decades as a thriving diplomatic and economic hub, Michilimackinac came to an end in 1781 as soldiers and civilians relocated to Mackinac Island. Begins on the Parade Ground.
