Colonial Michilimackinac Open for the Day. Find out how to open Michilimackinac with a bang!

10:00 a.m.
People of the Fur Trade Program
The fur trade was front and center throughout Michilimackinac’s history. Learn about the people who made up this global business. Begins on the Parade Ground. 

11:00 a.m.
Artillery Firing Program
Experience how soldiers in the British army used, trained, and practiced drill with the available artillery pieces at the fort, including a live firing! Located at the Artillery Platforms. 

12:00 p.m.
Musket Firing Demonstration
Learn how soldiers in the British army trained and practiced drill with their muskets, including a live weapons firing! Takes place on the Parade Ground.

12:30 p.m.
Michilimackinac 1775: Outpost on the Edge Program
The revolutionary events of 1775 directly impacted and altered the lives of everyone at Michilimackinac, despite their geographical isolation. Begins on the Parade Ground. 

2:00 p.m.
Slavery at the Straits Program
An in-depth discussion about how slavery developed over time, and how the experiences of enslaved people at the Straits reflect the complexities of slavery in the Great Lakes. Begins on the Parade Ground. 

3:30 p.m.
