Following the War of 1812, the rooms of the provision storehouse building were used for a variety of other purposes. In 1816 one of these was housing tailors and shoemakers of the 3rd infantry. These shoe parts are remnants of the shoemakers’ and tailors’ activities. They were found with other leather shoe heels, shoe soles, fragments of leather, iron boot heel cleats, bits of cloth, felt and buttons.
