“J. & E. PARKER’S UNION MILL Pat. Nov. 20, 1855 & Feb. 7, 1860”
The Parker family, Charles, John and Edmund were prolific makers of coffee mills and other domestic hardware from the 1830s to the 1890s. The firm was based in Meriden, Connecticut. This brass identification plate was found in the Fort Mackinac blacksmith shop. Was it for the blacksmith’s use at the shop or was he repairing this iron mill for someone?
