50-Cent Admission to Mackinac Parks for Local Residents May 12-13

Mackinac Island, Mich. — Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) send a note of thanks to local residents by offering 50-cent admission for adults to Colonial Michilimackinac, Fort Mackinac, and Historic Mill Creek on Residents Appreciation Weekend, set for Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13. The offer is open to all residents of Cheboygan, Emmet, and Mackinac counties. Youth ages 6-17 pay just 25 cents, with children five and under free.

Regular admission to Colonial Michilimackinac and Fort Mackinac is $10 for adults and $6 for youth (6-17). Rates for Historic Mill Creek are $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for youth (6-17). Admission for Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, which opens Monday, May 14, is $6 for adults and $3.50 for youth (6-17). Children five and under are admitted free to all MSHP sites.

Mackinac State Historic Parks is a family of living history museums and nature parks in northern Michigan’s Straits of Mackinac and is an agency within the Michigan Department of History, Arts and Libraries. Its sites—which are accredited by the American Association of Museums—include Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island State Park, and Historic Downtown on Mackinac Island, and Colonial Michilimackinac, Historic Mill Creek, and Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse in Mackinaw City.
