Mackinac Island's Geary House for Rent

Mackinac Island, Mich. — The Matthew Geary House, an historic home on Mackinac Island's Market Street , is available for monthly and seasonal rental during summer 2007 through Mackinac State Historic Parks.

The home, which was built in 1846, contains four bedrooms: one queen, one double, and two with twin beds. Comforters for each bed are provided, though other bed, bath, and kitchen linens must be brought in. The house includes a washer and dryer on the first floor, and the kitchen is equipped with basic utensils, a refrigerator with freezer, microwave, stove, and coffee maker. Pets are allowed. Lawn care, garbage pick up, and maintenance are provided. The Geary House is a smoke-free building.

Monthly (30-day) rental is set at $6,000 for May or October; $7,000 for June or September; and $8,000 for July or August. A 50% confirmation deposit is required at the time of reservation, with balance due upon arrival. A $500 security deposit is also required upon arrival; this will be refunded within two weeks of departure date pending a satisfactory inspection.

For cancellations 31 days or more before the scheduled arrival date, a refund of 90% of the confirmation deposit will be provided. For cancellations 30 days or less before the scheduled arrival date, there will be no refund, unless the park system is able to rent the house. If it is rented, a full refund will be provided minus a $100 processing fee.
