Researching Mackinac History

Mackinac State Historic Parks has a number of resources available for those interested in conducting research including students, scholars and genealogists.  We maintain the Petersen Center Library where books, archival materials, historic photo collections and genealogical materials are maintained.  Our archaeological and historical object collections are also available. Fort Mackinac and Fort Holmes are prominently featured in this 1817 painting of Mackinac Island, by F.S. Bolton.

Due to limited staffing, we are unable to conduct extensive general research.  Details on how to access specific type of materials are described in the links below.
