Michigan Archaeology Day
October 4th, 2008
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: Colonial Michilimackinac, Mackinaw City
Colonial Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City is the site of the longest ongoing archaeological dig in the United States! Professional teams have excavated on site every year since 1959, unearthing over 1 million artifacts and providing critical data for the reconstruction of Fort Michilimackinac, originally erected beginning in 1715.

As part of Archaeology Month in Michigan, Mackinac State Historic Parks will host Archaeology Day on the first Sunday in October.

Take a special archaeology-focused tour at 10:30 a.m., and examine areas of the fort that have been excavated led by a member of our own archaeology crew.

Members of the archaeology crew will be on hand all day to answer your questions.

Included with regular admission to Colonial Michilimackinac.
